Location: Tamarind Village is set in the heart of the historic city of Chiang Mai, located 700 kms. north of Bangkok. The hotel is conveniently situated fifteen minutes from the airport, train station and bus terminal and only ten minutes from the night bazaar and riverside restaurants. Within a five to ten minute walk of the hotel are Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh, the Lanna Architectural Museum, the Three Kings Monument and several other important temples and historic sites like the Tha-Pae Gate, Wat Umong Mahatherachan and Wat Phan On.

 Concept: Tamarind Village is a unique and charming boutique property that nestles in the heart of historic Chiang Mai. Surrounded by ancient temples and quaint shopping streets, it takes its name from a magnificent 200 year old tamarind tree that shelters the hotel in a shady embrace. Set around a series of garden courtyards, the 42 guest rooms and 3 suites reflect the rich ethnic diversity of northern Thailand by using fabrics and patterns drawn from the various tribes of the region. Intimate, serene and relaxing, Tamarind Village is an oasis of calm and tranquility, the perfect base for exploring Chiang Mai and beyond.

Tamarind Village's rooms exude a rustic ambiance that is casual yet simply elegant. The rooms are decorated in a fresh contemporary style that draws on the rich tradition of northern Thailand's tribal people as well as Chiang Mai's vibrant design community for the runners, throw rugs and accessories. All rooms feature modern, fully equipped bathrooms.

Ruen Tamarind Restaurant:
Ruen Tamarind provides indoor or open-air dining on the swimming pool terrace and offers a variety of mouthwatering Thai and International dishes in a contemporary setting. Our restaurant also offers a selection of authentic Northern Thai dishes prepared in our kitchen from original family recipes that have been handed down from mother to daughter over generations.

Facilities:
We are happy to provide a number of facilities and hotel services that include the Village Spa, boutique, concierge and travel desk, car rental, laundry and dry cleaning and babysitting.

Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool is set in a courtyard filled with tropical plants and flowers. Measuring 7.65 by 17.60 meters with a depth of 1.65 meters surrounded by comfortable recliners with parasols, this is the perfect place to relax with a book or take a refreshing dip. Ruen Tamarind provides a selection of drinks and cocktails served on the pool terrace.

The Village Spa:
The Village Spa at Tamarind Village is Chiang Mai's newest hedonistic hideaway, a serene sanctuary to relax and be pampered in perfect privacy and tranquility. Using only the finest herbal preparations drawn from the Lanna Thai heritage of natural healing, our highly trained therapists will ease away all the stresses and strains of modern life, restoring balance and harmony and a wonderful sense of health and vitality.

Our six treatment rooms, each with its own bathroom, are decorated in a natural style that reflects the rich ethnic traditions of northern Thailand, a perfect complement to the gracious skills of our Therapists. The Village Spa at Tamarind Village opens daily during 10:00 - 22:00hrs. and offers carefully chosen selection of blissful massage and treatments that are specially designed to rejuvenate and refresh the body and soul.  

  Boutique: Our boutique opens daily during 08:00 - 20:00hrs. and offers a selection of hotel signature products as well as textile, art pieces and souvenirs created by the local designers.
