" The Charming Embodiment
of Fine Living "
The Eugenia
Estate's pride, " The Eugenia ", is embodied in a late 19th -century
colonial-style house in the heart of down town Bangkok with twelve
guest rooms for travelers with refined taste.
The Eugenia - an old world
style architectural beauty, charmingly decorated and tastefully
furnished, boasts of a distinctive 3-story neo-Victorian building
conceived by its owner, Eugene, for those who seeks to enjoy more
than a touch of the Fabled East - long symbolized by such gems
as The Strand Hotel, Yangon, The Grand Angkor, Cambodia The Eastern
& Oriental, Penang, The Raffles Hotel, Singapore, The Galle
Face Hotel, Colombo or The Oriental Hotel, Bangkok, without pledging
their inheritance.
The period decoration even
extends to the bathtubs that were made of hand - beaten copper
and aluminum-alloy. Light switches and light fittings of various
vintage as are the four-posted beds, settees, dressers and desks
in all the suites, bring you back perhaps eighty or a hundred
years, or more.
The entire Eugenia is tastefully
appointed in charming period style and it exudes an air of tranquility
and serenity. It harkens back to a more leisurely time where people
of taste sipped tea or coffee and partook of the finniest delectable
under swaying palm trees in a courtyard by a pool, or on a verandah,
on balmy sub-tropical evenings.
The Eugenia was inspired by one of Eugene's
friends, an 83-year-old Vietnamese lady's chic and
sophistication and her sense of gracious living. She could well
be the human embodiment of The Eugenia herself. But her architectural
portrayal - The Eugenia has a 19th century neo-Victorian facade
and 21st century amenities, facilities and appointments within.
As to be expected of such neo-colonial
structures, there is no elevator in The Eugenia building to preserve
its authenticity. We apologize to those who may miss this mode
of conveyance.

| The Eugenia is centrally located
on Soi 31, also known as Soi Sawasdee, (Thai for Warm Greetings
and Welcome), on Sukhumvit Road right in the heart of the throbbing
tourist district of downtown Bangkok City. From here you could range
far and wide and explore the City that has everything that other
SE Asian cities can only talk about.
Bangkok with a history of
some 220 years has on offer all that any visitor can ask for from
food to culture, history to museums to monuments to theatres,
to all kinds of entertainment, to shopping and, indeed everything
imaginable. It is a vibrant and dynamic city that has a penchant
for fine, gracious and, oftentimes riotous living, and sometimes
outrageous lifestyles. It is a City that has something for everyone,
young and old, of both genders and those in between
Several shopping areas are nearby within walking distance ( almost
) such as The Emporium Shopping Complex (Soi Sukhumvit 24), …
while Thonglo District (Soi Sukhumvit 55), the Siam Square, The
Siam Paragon, The Gayson shopping center… are all in a short
distance away by Skytrain. Many fine restaurants, offering both
Thai and international varieties are also located in the mid Sukhumvit
area, such as: Maha Naga (Thai/ Soi 29), Giusto (Italian/ Soi
23), Yuu (BBQ/ Soi 31), Bann Khanitha (Thai/ Soi 23), Le Dalat
(Vietnamese/ Soi 23), Silom Village (Thai-Seafood/ Soi 31), Lemongrass
(Thai/ Soi 24), Wanakarm (Thai/ Soi 23), Bella Napoli (Pizzeria/
Soi 31) , etc.
